The tag on the map
is making assumptions.
It says, “You are here,”
as if it knows who I am
and is speaking directly to me.
But it doesn't know me.
If it did it would say,
“Why are you here?”
And I would be at a loss because
any answer I could give
would be an unworthy cliche.
The truth is I am here,
looking for you at every turn.
But you are not here.
Perhaps you are standing
in front of another map,
reading a tag that says,
“You are here!”
Maybe you are thinking
the same thing.
You are not here.
