My Nature
I worry
about my loved ones
all the time,
helplessly
wanting them safe and happy.
It is my nature.
Parents want
children bound in love,
to hold tight
together,
arm in arm, facing dark times;
it's how they'll survive.
All I have is hope
that I've taught them well,
been an example
they can cherish forever,
nature and nurture as one.
