Believe Me When I Say

Be smart but
Don't be afraid.
Just because you show emotions,
it doesn't mean you are beaten by them.
You are stronger than you know.
Believe the people
who tell you you're beautiful—
even if they love you—
especially if they love you.
They aren't lying to make you feel good;
they see you in a way you can never see yourself.
Believe in yourself.
It's okay to give yourself credit
for things you've done,
as long as you accept 
responsibility for your mistakes. 
Be smart and
learn to do better.
Most of all,
don't be afraid
to be yourself,
to follow your passions,
to open your heart,
to take chances.
Life is going to happen,
and things may not work out
the way you hoped they would,
but how you handle it is your choice.
Be smart.
Don't be afraid.
You are not alone.
