Earth Day

I look out the window
to see new buds on trees
and daffodils in bloom.
But Mother Nature is weeping;
heavy tears run down the glass.
She keeps trying to tell us
the right things to do,
but we don't listen.
There comes a time when children
think they know everything
and stop listening to their parents.
Like parents everywhere,
she's come to the place where
we are left to the consequences
of our decisions.
Today is Earth Day,
but what does that mean?
It's what every day should be,
and we better start listening.

Listen to your Mother (Nature)! 🙂
Thanks, Linda. Like the ads used to say, it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.
Wow now that is an important poem!
Yes and I am listening but you are right. She is weeping!
Thanks, Michael.
