Home Sweet Home
Here is where I want to be;
otherwise I am adrift, lost on a
moon orbiting a strange planet.
Everything about me thrives because of you.
Surely, you know that.
We are two sides of the same coin,
each with its own character;
each with its own heart.
Together we are whole.
Happiness comes and goes.
Our lives are not perfect but
maybe that's as it should be;
Everywhere you are is home to me.

Author’s Note- In case you hadn’t noticed, this poem is an acrostic– a poem where the first letters of each line spell out a word, name, or phrase. It’s fine if you didn’t notice, in fact I think I might like it even better if it flowed so well that you didn’t. Either way, I hope you enjoyed it.
Home Sweet Home–you’ve defined it perfectly. And yes, it flows.
Thanks so much, Cornelia! I’m glad it worked for you.
A beautiful sentiment. 🙂
Thanks, Linda!
This is beautifully orchestrated — and, yes, I hadn’t noticed. Enjoyed the content and flow enough to not dig around for poetic devices/details.
Thanks so much, Judy!
