Fall into Daylight

Fall into Daylight

She was tired.
Tired of dark dreams
that jolted her awake,
dreams she didn't remember
except for gloom they left behind
that clung to her all day.

She wanted to wake up
falling into daylight.
She wanted a new dawn
where the air was so buoyant
she floated on hope.

She wondered when
the wind would blow
like soft baby kisses,
exhaled in sweet puffs,
to land on her cheeks
and make the world right again.

She thought about,
yesterday, today,
and tomorrow.
She closed her eyes,
thinking
someday.
