What Do You Do On Those Sleepless Nights?

Ho Ho Ho
Here comes Santa Claus
I've been good

I love Christmas cards
though I know they're old-fashioned
So few come today
So many connections lost
I still send love in the mail

Awake in the night
I count haiku lines
Sheep make too much noise

Haiku and tankas
are like photo images
captured in my brain
I do not like mathematics
but often they make poems
