Youth thinks it is immortal, but time passes. If we are lucky, we come to a place where we can reflect on life, love, and all that we’ve experienced. If fortune truly smiles on us, those things will bring joy into our lives. These two poems have similar themes, with thoughts of what we might be thinking down the road. One is from a man’s point of view, the other from a woman’s. I find it interesting that the male view has a more positive bent to it, while the female view remembers what is lost. I would love to hear your thoughts.
