Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
Whether you're a new mom or one whose children are grown,
whether you have given birth or adopted your children,
whether you are a grandmother or hoping to be one,
Happy Mother's Day.

If you were blessed with a loving support system
or raised your children on your own,
if you're an aunt, or a cousin, or a sibling, or a friend,
who stepped up when a mother was needed,
Happy Mother's Day.

For those who have lost their mothers,
for the mothers who have lost children,
for those yearning to be mothers, but are unable,
for those whose mother might have been less than they needed,
this barrage of Happy Mother's Days can be painful.
Know that you are not alone,
that we care, and be comforted.

For better or worse, none of us would be in this world without our mothers. No mother is perfect, some excel, some fail miserably, but we all try to do the best we can. If you can, call or visit your mother and tell her you love her. There may come a day when you’ll wish you could and she won’t be there. If nothing else, be thankful she gave you life and use that gift wisely.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, whatever form they come in!
