I tried to get you in the poetry mood at the beginning of the month with a poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay, and since we’re halfway through the month, I thought I’d share the poem that first introduced me to her work. It’s a beautiful reading of The Ballad of the Harp Weaver done by Johnny Cash, of all people. I think he does a wonderful job with it, and hope you will come to love this poem as much as I do.

  1. Indeed that was a beautiful ballad. And Johnny Cash read it so well. Thank you for sharing that. 😊

    1. Glad you enjoyed it, Rosemary. As I mentioned, I’ve loved this poem since I was in the 8th grade and was truly surprised when I heard Cash’s reading of it. I never expected him to do such a great job of it.
