Anyone who knows me well will tell you how much I love the musical “1776”. I make a point of watching the video every year sometime during the first week of July and even those who may not love it quite as much as I do can’t complain because it’s also my birthday week, a time when all possible wishes are granted. In the past, I’ve shared YouTube links with clips from the movie version, but this morning when looking for the link to “Is Anybody There?” (a song that gives me chills every time), I happened to stumble on this version of Brent Spinner doing it. They’ve mixed the Congressional secretary reading the letter from “G. Washington” into the beginning and jumped to the signing of the Declaration at the very end. I think it’s really wonderful. I hope you’ll to take the 4 minutes to listen and remember those who dreamed of a new nation, where Americans, all Americans, live free, forevermore.
Wishing all of you a Happy and Safe 4th of July!
