Trinity Blooms

The trinity stands tall,

ready to bloom;

beside it a single stalk

leans away,

closed and alone.

Two Amaryllis branches sprout from one bulb,

planted in the same earth,

and nurtured with the same intention;

Yet one reaches out its red beauty,

the embodiment of faith, hope, and love,

while the other is intent on holding back,

sealing itself like the world filled with

hate, fear, and despair.

Single-minded negativity

may struggle against the sun,

but it cannot win.

The bright crimson blooms

are not the blood of hate,

but the heart of love.

Where there is hope,

there is life,

and where there is life,

love must win over hate.

    1. Thank you so much, Rosemary. This was one of the poems that resonated with me on different levels, so I’m glad to see some of that came through when you read it.
