You may remember that back in April I was working on the Poem A Day challenge. Due to travel and one thing and another, I didn’t manage to complete the challenge, but I did save all the prompts in hope that I’d get around to writing poems for them at some point. Well, today was one of those days and a poem was born from mindless doodling.
What thoughts come to you when you’re put on hold or listening to the mindless babble that’s often the background of our lives? Here’s what came into mine.
Doodles
mindless doodles
across the page
strings of cursive
penmanship practice
from days long gone
infinity loops
on and on and on
going nowhere
like the dinosaurs
and dead box letters
written in fine script
